Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support a contract assignment. In this permanent, in-person role, you will help organize and classify commercial insurance records by applying a labeling framework across multiple business data sources. This contract position is expected to last 2 months with potential for extension, and it is ideal for someone who works carefully, follows guidelines consistently, and communicates clearly when information needs review.
Responsibilities:
- Review commercial insurance records and enter structured information into spreadsheets with a high level of accuracy.
- Compare details across internal platforms and supporting files to classify accounts, quote activity, and deal outcomes correctly.
- Apply standardized labeling rules to identify business type, coverage details, quoting route, pricing information, and policy status.
- Document unclear or incomplete records with concise notes and escalate them for review rather than making assumptions.
- Track supporting documentation such as prior coverage records, payroll information, identification files, and related materials tied to each account.
- Maintain steady daily output while preserving consistency and data quality across a high volume of records.
- Adapt quickly to updates in the annotation guide and implement revised instructions throughout the project. Requirements
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail in data entry or record review work.
- Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets in a fast-paced administrative environment.
- Clear written English and the ability to leave useful notes on exceptions or discrepancies.
- Ability to follow a structured process and apply definitions consistently across repetitive tasks.
- Reliable organizational skills with the discipline to manage high-volume work independently.
- Comfort working on repetitive assignments that require focus and precision.
- Willingness to ask questions and flag ambiguous information when needed.
- Previous exposure to insurance, finance, operations, or data annotation is helpful but not required.
