This is a
FEDERAL GRANT FUNDED
position and is subject to available grant funds. This position is located under the Emergency Preparedness and Response section of the Division of Health Protection of DPH. The Data Operations Specialist reports to the Data Operations Manager. This is an entry-level position, offering the opportunity to build skills in data collection and analysis as well as emergency management. Under supervision, the Data Operations Specialist collects and analyzes data across numerous sources as well as generates visualizations and reports that facilitate situational awareness across DPH's Emergency Preparedness and Response program. Maintains and improves a Knack
- based data collection platform used statewide.
Identifies trends, gaps, and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and drive decision-making. Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in relevant areas. Serve as a liaison between data operations and planning teams, ensuring emergency preparedness planning efforts are data driven. Other duties as required. Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience related to area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Busi Support Analyst 2 (GSP131).

An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working with Knack, Power BI, or computer programming. Prior public health or emergency preparedness and response experience. Previous experience developing plans or formal guidance documents. Team-oriented, able to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners. Solutions-driven, meticulous, and willing to learn. Bachelors Degree. The DPH Commissioner and agency leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.
