In this role, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections and collecting data of properties required through the cyclical inspections, building permit reviews and property sales for the purpose of accurate property taxation and assessment records. Work includes visiting property sites, taking measurements and photographs, recording and analyzing data and information, and maintaining related records. Responsibilities Conducts on-site field inspections of all residential and commercial properties throughout the Town of Dartmouth. Performs inspections for cyclical revaluations, recent property sales, building permit-related changes, or other updates required to maintain accurate assessment records. Measures, lists, photographs, and sketches properties to collect detailed data for use in cyclical inspections and/or building permits. Conducts annual re-inspections of partially completed properties to adjust assessed values as needed based on the degree of completion, added improvements, and any changes observed during inspections. Documents findings accurately, including photographs, sketches, and notes, to support fair and equitable valuations throughout the construction phase. Verifies the status of vacant parcels through field inspections, record reviews, and comparison with existing assessing database information to confirm no improvements or changes have occurred. Performs other duties, as required. Qualifications & Experience Must have high school diploma or equivalent; 2 to 5 years related experience in appraisal, assessment, valuation, and/or market analysis; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with CAMA systems is highly desirable. Municipal government experience preferred
