Job Summary:
The IRS is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Indexer to manage and maintain the indexing of critical tax documents and records. The Indexer will ensure that information is accurately categorized and easily retrievable to support the IRS's mission of tax administration and enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, analyze, and index tax-related documents, forms, and records according to IRS standards and guidelines. Assign appropriate indexing codes and metadata to ensure accurate classification and retrieval of documents. Maintain and update digital and physical filing systems to enhance document accessibility. Collaborate with other IRS departments to verify document accuracy and completeness. Conduct quality control checks to ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy and security regulations. Utilize IRS software tools and databases for indexing and record management. Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to indexing activities. Adhere to IRS confidentiality policies and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Qualifications:
Experience in document management, indexing, or administrative roles is an asset. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient with data entry and document management software. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Education:
High school diploma
