The right candidate will be responsible for providing location information to process servers utilized by the Firm, tracking the process of service and entering service data as the information/ documentation is received by the Firm.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The position is mainly to track the process of service attempts and workflow; run diary for personal/alternate service and proof of service. Process Summons and Complaints (S&C) back from the court; separate, enter data and scan documents to file. Mail appropriate copies of S&C and documents to process servers for process of service. Enter process service data into files as it is received by the Firm. Review proofs of service and verified statements to ensure process servers have completed documents accurately and thoroughly as set forth. Handle calls/emails from process servers looking for addresses, plate searches and other information. Communicate with process servers and/court clerks to resolve issues as they arise. Investigate bad address, run postal skips, obtain good addresses; check venue and statute; correct for proper service. Track actions and diary files for next action. Troubleshoot issues and communicate changes. Meet and exceed individual, Firm, department and client goals. Accurately enter data into files. Accomplish department and the Firm's mission by completing related results as needed. Complete tasks in a timely manner to avoid backlog and workflow delays. Comply with all relative federal, state and local regulations. Comply with all Firm policies and procedures. Train new hires and coworkers as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, research and investigation, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and follow up skills. Ability to use the Firm's collection systems and software applications/services. Ability to use standard office equipment, including a copy machine, phone system and calculator. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to self-motivated. Ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize Complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of all relevant federal, state and local collection regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"); maintain and disseminate updates.
