Position Summary:
The Data Entry Specialist supports the Development/Fundraising department by ensuring data integrity for The Raiser's Edge and quality reporting for data-informed decision making. The Data Entry Specialist works extensively within The Raiser's Edge database and Microsoft Excel and will meet regularly with the Coding Team, to include the Fundraising Manager of Analytics and Insight and the Director of Donor Relations who oversees donor processes and communications. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Two (2) years administrative support experience required; prior experience working in a non-profit business setting preferred. Relevant prior experience with fundraising database software required; prior experience with The Raiser's Edge/NXT database management preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required; working knowledge of Google applications preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Performs routine gift entry and constituent management within The Raiser's Edge. 2. Manages acknowledgments for all donations received. 3. Manages letters acknowledging donations received when appropriate. 4. Provides data entry and technical support for third-party event platforms and works with the Fundraising Manager of Analytics and Insight to ensure data migration to The Raiser's Edge, including gifts and constituent information, are completed in a timely manner. 5. Monitors, completes and follows-up with requestors using The Raiser's Edge Change Request form. 6. Checks/monitors Development Department email, responds to the emails, forwards emails to other appropriate staff, prints off OLX information and ACH Transfer information, and archives specific emails for referencing at a later date. 7. Supports imports and look-ups for the Halo Awards/Grateful Patients and Families Program, including formatting import templates, comparing constituent data from Suncoast (Electronic Medical Record-EMR) to The Raiser's Edge, and obituary look-ups. 8. Assists with mailing list review and edits, ensures all donor communications are marked accordingly and timely in The Raiser's Edge, and ensures updates from Change of Address audit reports are added to The Raiser's Edge in a timely manner. 9. Works with the Fundraising Manager of Analytics and Insight to develop and document processes to integrate third-party platforms used by the organization (Suncoast, Thriftcart, OneCause, Better Impact) with The Raiser's Edge. This includes, but is not limited to, deceased record and admission updates, Story Boutique and Heart & Soul retail store coding, and updating volunteer records. 10. Manages the duplicate manager tool and supports ongoing data maintenance projects for The Raiser's Edge. 11. Meets regularly with the Coding Team and works collaboratively to develop and update written procedures for database management as it relates to the Development Department. 12. Regularly engages and attends relevant webinars and participates in discussion boards to troubleshoot data entry/coding barriers. Stays up to date on best practices and industry trends. 13. Understands, carries out and adheres to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care's (KCH&PC's) Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles, policies and procedures. 14. Prioritizes, manages, and organizes work to complete essential job duties, meet performance objectives, and effectively practices time management. 15. Understands and accepts supervision, direction, consultation, coaching, and complies with policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures to successfully complete all work duties. 16. Maintains positive working relationships and contributes to the team environment by demonstrating courtesy and respect to all individuals, co-workers, donors, volunteers, and stakeholders utilizing appropriate language and nonverbal behavior. 17. Maintains confidentiality of all KCH&PC information, patient nonpublic personal information (NPI) and personal health information (PHI), as well as records directly or indirectly identifying any person currently or formerly receiving services from KCH&PC. Complies with KCH&PC's confidentiality policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to maintain and improve effective functioning of the department and to advance the mission of the organization. All job responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of KCH&PC's policies and procedures and management directives.
