Medical Data Entry Specialist TABS Billing Milwaukee, WI Job Details Full-time $16 - $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Flexible schedule Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Data Entry Specialist to join our healthcare team. This position is responsible for accurately entering patient information, insurance details, processing medical billing data, organizing and understanding medical records, entering CPTs, modifiers, diagnoses, etc. They will be working in an office situation, having direct communication with various medical clinics. Duties Enter and update patient demographic information Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is included for billing purposes Process and submit medical claims accurately and timely Review patient accounts for missing or incorrect information Correct billing errors and assist with claim follow-up, when needed Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or coding Scan, upload, and organize patient documentation Assist front office or billing department with administrative tasks, as assigned Ensure accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding information is entered, when applicable Maintain productivity and accuracy standards Qualifications Previous medical billing, healthcare data entry, or medical office experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and billing procedures Familiarity with EMR (electronic medical records) systems is preferred Strong attention-to-detail and accuracy Excellent typing and data entry skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong organizational and communication skills Basic understanding of ICD-10 and CPT codes preferred
