Insurance Verification Specialist

Duties Verify patient insurance details by managing real-time data updates, contacting insurance companies and patients Confirm coverage eligibility, benefits, and pre-authorizations for various medical visits and procedures Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate documentation of insurance information in electronic health records Utilize knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality during all verification processes Maintain detailed records of insurance verifications, approvals, denials, and follow-up actions to ensure compliance and audit readiness Resolve pre-authorization and/or referral issues to ensure appropriate payment will be received Requirements Proven experience in healthcare insurance verification roles Strong understanding of managed care plans, insurance policies, and billing procedures Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and security of patient information Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding (CPT, ICD-10) Prior experience working in medical offices is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with insurance providers and healthcare teams Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
