Referral Specialist Position:
Hours are 8:00-5:00pm, Monday-Thursday, 8:00-12:00 FridayThis position is based within Jefferson Regional Practice Management In this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected.
Job Summary:
A referral specialist within Practice Network is responsible for scheduling incoming referrals, outgoing referrals, or both. This role will work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate referrals, manage authorizations, and track progress of the referral process.
Referral Specialist Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of insurance
Technical Diploma:
in healthcare related field preferred.

Associate Degree in healthcare administration, medical assisting, or other related field preferred.

Bachelors Degree in healthcare or other related field preferred.1-year experience in an exact or similar role preferred.

Understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and referral procedures preferred.

Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other medical software preferred.

Advanced computer, phone, and email including experience with MS office products.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
