Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medi-Cal Eligibility Specialist to join our team at a well-established mental health facility. This is a temp-to-hire position offering a pay rate of $22/hour . The ideal candidate will be well-versed in navigating benefitscal.com and experienced in handling Medi-Cal applications, with a strong understanding of county processes and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate and professional assistance by greeting and intaking patients in a consult room setting. Assist patients with Medi-Cal applications using benefitscal.com , ensuring accuracy and compliance with county regulations. Navigate county functions effectively to support patients through the application process. Work directly with patients in a safe, consultative environment to assess eligibility and guide them through the steps required for Medi-Cal access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background as a County Worker , Social Worker , or in a similar role providing assistance with government benefits. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Previous experience working in a mental health or healthcare setting is highly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and thick skin to handle challenging situations with empathy and efficiency.
Requirements:
TB Test must be completed prior to the start date. COVID and Flu vaccines are encouraged, but if unavailable, the candidate will be required to sign a declination form.
