Job Description
Citrus Cardiology is looking for multiple full-time Prior Authorization Specialists. The person in this position is responsible for monitoring incoming patient orders and gathering the correct information needed to obtain the prior authorization of patient appointments. You will be checking insurance eligibility and medical necessity for testing and procedures as outlined by the insurances. You must complete the function of this role in a timely and accurate manor in order to ensure the satisfaction of our patients and the payments of our claims. Generous benefits plan included. Responsibilities Handle insurance eligibility checks to confirm patient coverage and benefits. Contact primary care offices and insurance companies regarding authorizations. Regularly call offices and insurance companies to follow up on pending approvals. Reach out to patients when additional information is needed to complete authorizations. Maintain confidentiality and safeguard protected health information (PHI) and company information according to HIPPA guidelines and company policy. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment, completing additional tasks as needed. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required 1+ years of insurance verification, authorizations, and/or medical billing Familiar with medical and healthcare insurance terminology Professional and courteous phone manner.
