Intake Insurance Verification Specialist| Personal Injury NEO Surgical Group LLC Orlando, FL Job Details Full-time $16 - $21 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Position Summary The Intake Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying insurance coverage. This position ensures that insurance information is accurate, claims are verified promptly, and patient accounts are appropriately updated to facilitate timely billing and reimbursement. The specialist also supports scheduling operations by following up with no-show patients and assisting with appointment rescheduling. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Insurance Verification Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and claim status. Contact insurance carriers and claim representatives to confirm coverage and claim details. Obtain and document all required insurance information accurately and timely. Accurately enter and maintain patient insurance information. Ensure all verification activities are properly documented. Maintain organized and accurate records in accordance with company policies and procedures. Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times. Ensure all insurance verification processes are completed accurately and within established timelines. Review daily no-show reports. Contact patients who missed appointments to reschedule promptly. Update appointment schedules and patient records accordingly. Assist in maintaining provider schedules by minimizing gaps resulting from missed appointments. Qualifications Experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical insurance verification, patient intake, medical billing, or a related healthcare role preferred. Experience with Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims is highly preferred. Experience using Athenahealth or similar Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of medical insurance verification processes. Knowledge of PIP claims and insurance terminology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical record systems. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
