Up to$48,000 annually Position Summary Join one of Central Florida's oldest and most established social service agencies in our effort to combat homelessness by getting individuals into housing rapidly. Our mission is to prevent homelessness, combat poverty, cultivate self-sufficiency, restore hope, and glorify God through the faithful provision of services that directly address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs for families and individuals who are struggling in Central Florida. With locations in Downtown Orlando and Ocoee the Christian Service Center has been serving Central Florida families with compassion and care for 52 years. This position works in partnership with the Homeless Services Network (HSN) and the Veteran's Administration (VA) to implement the Supportive Services for Veterans and Families (SSVF) program. The SSVF Intake Specialist will work directly with clients as the first point of contact, holding initial meetings and taking client information to assign them to an appropriate Case Manager. The role will require accurate data collection and entry and the ability to work with clients regularly throughout the day.

Friday Chief Responsibilities and Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interview clients seeking assistance in a pleasant and positive manner Evaluate discharge status, housing status, and income to determine eligibility Document background information, suggestions, referrals, and any other information received utilizing the HMIS software Complete intake and program enrollment Make appropriate referrals to specific case managers or other program services Assist the SSVF Case Managers with preparation of files and other items needed for their clients

Education and Experience Required experience:
Able to demonstrate patience and empathy with clients experiencing a housing and/or financial crisis Clearly able to communicate verbally Excellent organization skills Preferred experience: HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) experience Experience working with homeless and impoverished clients Experience working with veterans Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred
