POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate information about families in the statewide database system, screening applicants for financial assistance eligibility and remaining knowledgeable about current types of available funding and applicable eligibility requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct client interviews, screen, and complete necessary paperwork accurately, in a timely fashion for determining and maintaining eligibility. Responds to requests for information from clients/providers timely and within client confidentiality guidelines. Provides CCR&R services according to state guidelines. Volunteers and represents Coalition at external events to provide information on services. Maintain current and accurate information in the statewide database system. Attends all meetings/in-service training, as requested, or required, in a punctual, professional, and contributory manner. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position performs its essential functions mainly inside the office. Special events attended by the Coalition will require work outside the office at a remote location.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Staff will on occasion lift items up to 25 lbs. while completing functions.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a 40-hour per week non-exempt position. ELC's hours of operation are 7 am - 6 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am - 12 pm on Fridays. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, plus 3 years of related experience working with the public. Bilingual. Ability to work independently; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Maintain schedule flexibility for occasional evening and weekend activities. Deemed qualified for employment through Level II Background Screening.
