Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Occupancy Specialist (Temp-to-Perm)
Hourly Wage Range:

Location:
Atlanta, GA The Housing Authority of Fulton County (HAFC) is seeking two detail-oriented and customer-focused Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Occupancy Specialists to support the HCV Manager by processing admissions, recertifications, and case management for program participants. The Specialist ensures compliance with HUD regulations, maintains accurate records, and provides quality service to tenants and landlords. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers a potential pathway to permanent employment and professional development. Key Responsibilities Conduct eligibility and recertification interviews with applicants and participants. Verify income, assets, and family composition; calculate rent and tenant payments. Prepare and process Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contracts, move-ins, and move-outs. Maintain participant files, program data, and billing for portability cases. Communicate with landlords, tenants, and the public to resolve issues. Coordinate inspections and assist with briefings and client support. Qualifications High school diploma/GED required; college coursework in social services, public administration, or related field preferred. At least 3 years of experience in housing programs, public housing administration, or related field. Knowledge of HUD/HCV regulations and strong attention to detail. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Must obtain HCV Specialist certification within 4 months of hire (training provided by HAFC). Valid Georgia driver's license required.
