at Department of Healthcare and Family Services in Springfield, Illinois, United States Job Description Essential Functions Under direction, serves as a Long-Term Care Resource Analyst by planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the reviews of medical eligibility determinations including Long-Term Care ( LTC ) applications Obtains documentation provided by various resources for the asset review Compiles and updates program documents including policy memoranda and manual releases Reviews documentation and identifies incorrect medical eligibility determinations, including those related to LTC (unallowable transfers and unreported assets) to reduce the number of medical eligibility determinations and LTC applications in error Confers with supervisor and other management staff on all levels of the review process Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with course work in business or public administration Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program Specialized Skills Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience utilizing and interpreting Medical Eligibility policies and procedures pertinent to all medical programs including long term care Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience determining medical eligibility by applying investigative techniques and concepts Requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience interpreting and disseminating government programs, policies, and objectives in verbal and written form Preferred Qualifications A minimum of one (1) year of experience utilizing and interpreting Medical Eligibility policies and procedures pertinent to all medical programs including long term care A minimum of one (1) year of experience determining medical eligibility by applying investigative techniques and concepts A minimum of one (1) year of experience interpreting and disseminating government programs, policies, and objectives in verbal and written form One (1) year of professional experience reviewing financial documents, specifically bank records and documents pertaining to assets and resources One (1) year of professional experience with LTC policies and procedures One (1) year of professional experience working with the transfer of asset policy One (1) year of professional experience analyzing information received to compile written reviews Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to pass a background check and self-closure of criminal history Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop The conditions of employment listed here are incorporated and related to any of the job duties as listed in the job description To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
