Information and Referral Specialist

Do you enjoy helping others and making a difference in their lives? We continue to grow and need to add another Community Outreach & Eligibility Specialist to our team at DPOK! This position will help people and their support network with the application process for Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) services. The Specialist will provide information and referral, assist the applicant in applying for services, and assist with connecting the applicant with appropriate resources in South-Central Kansas. This position will also be responsible for providing community education on the referral and eligibility process. A positive attitude, customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and a responsive and supportive mind-set are central to the position. Post secondary degree in social services, business or related field prefereed, but not required. Experience working in the I/DD service system, social services, information and referral or with persons with developmental disabilities is preferred. This is a full-time position with a flexible work schedule.
