Insurance Reauthorization Specialist Location Lafayette, LA Pay Rate:
$16.00 per hour
Shift:

GED or high school diploma required Able to learn and maintain knowledge of the current patient database and billing system Understand the insurance benefit breakdown of deductibles and co-insurance Knowledge of the Explanation of Benefits from insurance companies General knowledge of government, regulatory billing, and compliance regulations/policies for Medicare & Medicaid Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04 claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, and insurance benefits 2-4 years of DME or Medical Office experience preferred Minimum of 1 year of insurance verification or authorizations required
Responsibilities:
Obtain patient demographic and health insurance information; collect co-pay(s) when appropriate. Verify and record insurance benefits with the ability to understand and provide insurance breakdowns. Read through and understand medical documentation effectively. Resolve Front Collections accounts as well as document them within the computer system appropriately. Establish and maintain effective communication and good working relationships with patients/family, physicians' offices, and other internal teams for the patient's benefit.
