Job Description:
The Early College Summer Enrollment and Student Outreach Specialist supports the successful onboarding and transition of students into the Early College program during the summer months. The position focuses on student recruitment, enrollment support, placement coordination, family outreach, orientation development, and transition planning to ensure students are prepared to begin their Early College experience successfully. The Specialist works collaboratively with school staff and higher education partners to engage students and families, provide individualized support, and coordinate summer programming and communication efforts.
Responsibilities:
Support Early College recruitment and enrollment efforts through application sessions, information sessions and outreach events. Conduct proactive outreach to students and families via phone calls, email, text messaging platforms, and in-person meetings to support enrollment completion and program participation. Assist students with placement-related processes, including scheduling, preparation, follow-up communication, and tracking completion of required steps. Develop and organize materials for Early College orientations, summer onboarding activities, and family engagement events. Create presentations, communication materials, flyers, and digital content to promote Early College opportunities and support student awareness of program expectations and timelines. Maintain accurate student records and communication logs in ASPEN and in shared spreadsheets. Collaborate with school counselors, Early College staff, and higher education partners to ensure students complete required enrollment, advising, and registration steps. Assist with planning and coordination of summer events, workshops, campus visits, and field trips connected to college and career exploration. Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing communication regarding student progress, outreach efforts, and program needs. Provide responsive follow-up and individualized support to students and families to address barriers to participation and enrollment.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in education, counseling, communications, student affairs, or a related field. Experience working with high school or college-age students in advising, outreach, enrollment, recruitment, or student support settings. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and maintain organized records and documentation. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Canva, MEFA Pathways, College Board, ASPEN, and Parent Square platforms preferred. Experience working in diverse and multilingual communities strongly preferred. Demonstrated cultural responsiveness and commitment to supporting students from varied backgrounds. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Current authorization to work in the United States required by the first day of employment.
Compensation:
The stipend amount is $30•33/hr (total amount available: $5,750). •This is a temporary summer position, funding provided through the DESE Early College office.
