Authorization Specialist wanted for Private Pain Clinic Company Overview North Shore Pain Management has been providing exceptional healthcare services since 2010. Our dedicated team, including providers, medical assistants, and billing specialists, is committed to delivering comprehensive treatment for acute and chronic pain. We collaborate with leading healthcare institutions to ensure our patients receive high-quality care within their community.Summary:
This position requires medical insurance knowledge and experience in the process of obtaining insurance authorizations for treatment through various websites and portals. Candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, a team player, and willing to take direction but able to also work independently. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of providing advanced pain management solutions. Requirements Proven experience in medical coding and insurance verification processes. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards. Experience with EPIC Practice Management System (preferred) Experience with Pain Management or a specialist practice is a plus! Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients, medical providers and insurance representatives.Duties Include:
Reviewing EPIC WorkQs for ordered procedures and then utilizing various insurance portals and websites to submit requests for authorizations. Submitting appeals for denied authorization requests and processes to obtain extensions or other changes to those authorizations. Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and coverage options Must keep up to date with changing insurance guidelines for our procedures.
