LOCATION OF POSITION MDH
- Office of Eligibility Services\r\n201 W. Preston Street\r\nBaltimore, MD 21201\r\n Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to ensure the timely enrollment of low-income Medicare entitled persons in the federally mandated Buy-In Program. To ensure payment of Medicare Premiums that guarantees Medicare insurance for this population, and to implement Federal and State policies, regulations and guidelines that govern eligibility for the provision of Medicare and Buy-In services. To provide customer service to recipients and other agencies regarding issues related to both Medicare and Medical Assistance eligibility. To provide on-going Medicare Buy-In eligibility for approximately 135,000 individuals certified through the State's Medical Assistance Program. This position has the responsibility of maintaining the integrity of the Medicare Buy-In Program by researching, resolving, and updating complex Medical Assistance cases.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
�� Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r\n
Experience:
Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program. \r\n
Notes:
\r\n1. Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience�on a year-for-year basis for the required education. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.\r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:\r\n\r\n\r\n Software knowledge and experience using the Enrollment and Eligibility System (E&E) and the Maryland Management Information System (MMIS).\r\n\r\n\r\n
