Responsibilities - What you'll do Ultimately, you make determinations as to an individual's eligibility to receive Social Security disability benefits. You do this through the following activities: Reviews, examines, and analyzes electronic documentation daily Screen and evaluates electronic medical, psychological, vocational, educational and other related information Conducts telephone interviews with claimants and other professionals as needed Uses available policy, regulations, and procedures to guide decision-making Summarizes information gathered into a concise, logical finding on a claim Develops working relationships with the medical community and other related agencies Click here to watch a video about this exciting opportunity! Qualifications - All you need for success Bachelor's degree required Prior experience demonstrating regular attendance, critical thinking, independent task completion Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of case management techniques. Ability to analyze and process medical and psychological information. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with the medical community, other agencies and co-workers. Ability to express self clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing. Computer and keyboard proficiency. Notice Of Federal Background Investigation Individuals selected for positions with Missouri Disability Determination Services (DDS) will go through a complete federal background investigation. A suitability determination by the Social Security Administration is necessary to determine whether an employee can be issued credentials in order to have access to Social Security disability data, records and systems. Finalists must pass a preliminary check before a conditional job offer will be extended. However, the job offer is still contingent upon a full suitability clearance through the SSA Office of Human Resources (DCHR). Further details will be provided during the interview process.
