Rose Brooks Center, a nonprofit domestic violence agency, is currently seeking a full-time Prevention Specialist - Elementary School Prevention (Grades 1-5). The Prevention Specialist provides violence prevention services in elementary classrooms throughout Jackson County, Missouri, with a primary focus on facilitating student groups for students in Grades 1-5. Prevention Specialists teach resiliency skills and emotional regulation while working closely with Project SAFE staff, school personnel, and students. Additional responsibilities include developing and enhancing program curriculum independently and collaboratively, maintaining accurate and timely program records, and client outcome reports.
Other aspects of the position:
Perform all job responsibilities while demonstrating proficiency in all RBC competencies and a commitment to the overall mission of Rose Brooks Center. Perform functions of job according to agency policies and procedures Participate in all required trainings and optional trainings as determined Attend scheduled staff, team and supervision meetings
Qualifications:
Required Education, Experience, and Skill:
Experience working with youth Experience facilitating discussion or educational groups Computer literacy Proven organizational skills Effective team member in collaboration and cooperation Experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships Able to maintain accurate, timely documentation of services Valid driver's license and proof of liability auto insurance
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
Experience with prevention programs and working with school administration Bachelor's degree in social services, Education or related field or commensurate Knowledge of domestic violence Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
Hours:
This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled Monday through Friday and requires a minimum of 40 hours/wk. The position works primarily in the schools but also works on-site in an office environment. Some evening and weekend availability may be required.
Compensation:
This position falls into a range starting at $46,000 annually (exempt). Plus offers a comprehensive benefits package.
