Authorization & Referral Specialist - Plastic Surgery UNLV Medicine - 2.4 Las Vegas, NV Job Details Full-time $18.10 - $21.63 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays 401(k) 3% Match Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Computer operation Spanish In-person customer service English Medical scheduling High school diploma or GED Healthcare referral management Patient interaction Health insurance referral requirements Typing Full Job Description The Authorization and Referral Specialist is responsible for the timely processing, submitting, scheduling and follow up of referrals and request for treatment authorizations as required by payer. The Authorization and Referral Specialist tracks existing referrals by program and payer. The Authorization and Referral Specialist position requires excellent customer service skills with patients, employees, and the public. Individual must also be flexible, organized and must be able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Working Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (Actual hours may vary depending on business need) 12 Paid Holidays per year, starting with your first day of employment 20 + PTO days per year (Depending on Position) 3% 401K Contribution, even if you do not contribute Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits that start the first of the month following your start date
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalency
QUALIFICATIONS
Two years in the medical field to include front office, appointment scheduling and referral authorization Must be Bilingual English/Spanish Knowledge of health plans, eligibility and guidelines Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English Demonstrated ability to use a computer Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm Experience with the Seriously Mentally Ill population preferred Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT billing codes a plus
