What You'll Do The Engagement Specialist supports our Central Intake program, the entry point into the Help Me Grow system of supports sponsored by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY). You will work directly with families to understand their needs, determine eligibility, and connect them to the right resources.
Responsibilities include:
Process incoming calls and connect families to home visiting programs by determining eligibility and assigning referrals Conduct real-time data entry into DCY databases with a 95% or higher accuracy rate Answer agency phone lines with a consistent, positive, and helpful demeanor Listen actively to families and process applications with empathy and patience Stay current on state and local resources, policy updates, and service changes Follow up with referral sources and maintain complete, accurate documentation Scan and distribute completed referrals Participate in team and all-staff meetings What We're Looking For Ability to build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds and cultures Understanding of early childhood development and socio-emotional principles Experience working with economically diverse or underserved populations Proven ability to maintain accurate, timely records and meet reporting expectations Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn proprietary databases Strong customer service skills with a professional communication style Self-motivation and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Desired but not required: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Business, or related field Bilingual (English/Spanish) You'll Thrive Here If You enjoy helping families navigate resources in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
