Job Description

Position Summary The Match Enrollment & Support Specialist is responsible for guiding volunteers, youth, and families through the full mentoring lifecycle — from enrollment and screening to match support and retention. This role blends relationship-building, case management, interviewing, child safety practices, and ongoing coaching to ensure high-quality, lasting mentoring matches that support positive youth outcomes. The ideal candidate is highly relational, organized, adaptable, and comfortable balancing both administrative detail and human connection in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. Key Responsibilities Enrollment & Volunteer Screening
  • Conduct volunteer, parent, and youth intake interviews in accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters standards
  • Guide volunteers, parents, and youth through onboarding, training, and enrollment processes
  • Coordinate informational meetings and orientation sessions
  • Complete background screening processes and ensure compliance with child safety standards
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed case documentation in agency databases
  • Track enrollment pipeline progress and assist in achieving volunteer recruitment goals Match Support & Coaching
  • Provide ongoing match support to volunteers, youth, and families through scheduled contacts and coaching conversations
  • Build strong relationships with volunteers, parents, and youth to encourage long-term match success
  • Identify match concerns early and intervene appropriately to reduce match closures
  • Support youth safety and risk management practices throughout all stages of the match
  • Facilitate transitions from enrollment to active mentoring relationships
  • Assist with planning and supporting match activities, workshops, and agency events Case Management & Collaboration
  • Maintain consistent documentation and reporting according to BBBSA and agency standards
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth communication and service delivery
  • Use critical thinking and sound judgment in addressing match challenges and family needs
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining responsiveness and professionalism Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, human services, or related field preferred
  • Relevant experience in mentoring, case management, interviewing, youth services, counseling, or nonprofit programming
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with both youth and adults from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using CRM/database systems preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold child safety standards
