Position Summary Thrive is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Revenue Cycle & Credentialing Specialist to support billing, revenue cycle, credentialing, and payer enrollment functions for Thrive Behavioral Health and, as needed, Thrive Wellness Clinic. This role will support accurate and timely billing, claims submission, eligibility verification, denial follow-up, payment posting, accounts receivable tracking, payer communication, provider credentialing, payer enrollment, and billing readiness. This position is ideal for someone with strong behavioral health billing experience who understands Medicaid, commercial insurance, outpatient mental health services, substance use disorder treatment, assessments, group services, and intensive outpatient programming. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, proactive, confidential, and comfortable supporting a startup program as it grows. Responsibilities Submit accurate and timely claims to Medicaid and commercial insurance payers. Review claims for accuracy prior to submission. Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid, denied, rejected, or delayed claims. Correct and resubmit claims as needed. Track accounts receivable and aging reports. Complete eligibility and benefits verification. Assist with prior authorization and utilization review processes when applicable. Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile billing activity as assigned. Support billing for assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, intensive outpatient programming, substance use disorder services, and outpatient behavioral health services. Assist with provider credentialing and payer enrollment processes. Support commercial insurance credentialing applications and follow-up. Assist with Medicaid enrollment and payer setup tasks as applicable. Track credentialing application status, effective dates, payer approvals, and recredentialing timelines. Support CAQH updates, payer portal access, and provider enrollment documentation as applicable. Maintain organized billing, credentialing, and payer enrollment records. Communicate professionally with insurance payers, leadership, clinical supervisors, providers, and administrative staff. Provide regular updates regarding billing, claims, credentialing, payer enrollment, and revenue cycle status. Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times. Support billing system setup, payer portal setup, workflow development, and process improvement as the organization grows. Perform other duties as requested. Required Qualifications Prior behavioral health billing experience. Experience with commercial insurance billing. Experience with Medicaid billing or strong working knowledge of Medicaid billing processes. Knowledge of claims submission, claim follow-up, denial management, payment posting, and accounts receivable. Experience using electronic billing systems, clearinghouses, payer portals, and/or electronic health record platforms. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Professional communication with payers, providers, staff, and leadership. Alignment with Thrive's mission, values, culture of honor, and standards of professional conduct. Preferred Qualifications Experience with provider credentialing, payer enrollment, CAQH, Medicaid enrollment, or commercial insurance credentialing. Experience billing for substance use disorder treatment services. Experience billing for intensive outpatient programming. Experience billing for group therapy, assessments, individual therapy, and outpatient behavioral health services. Experience with Washington State Medicaid billing. Experience with commercial behavioral health payers. Experience with prior authorizations or utilization review. Familiarity with ASAM-related documentation and SUD service billing. Experience helping build billing, credentialing, or revenue cycle systems for a new or growing program. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in behavioral health revenue cycle work. This person understands that accurate billing, credentialing, and payer follow-up are essential to the health and sustainability of a growing treatment program. We are looking for someone who is trustworthy, proactive, communicative, and able to help build strong systems from the ground up. The right person will value excellence, confidentiality, ethical practice, stewardship, and professional follow-through. Schedule This is a very part-time position to start, estimated at approximately 5-10 hours per week . Hours are expected to increase as Thrive Behavioral Health launches, credentialing and payer enrollment needs expand, and client/program volume grows. Schedule may be flexible, but availability must allow for timely claims submission, payer follow-up, eligibility checks, credentialing follow-up, and regular communication with leadership. Compensation $30-$38 per hour , depending on experience. Final compensation will be based on behavioral health billing experience, Medicaid and commercial insurance knowledge, denial management experience, credentialing experience, payer enrollment experience, and ability to support billing operations for a growing behavioral health and substance use treatment program.
