Full-Time- Monday- Friday, 8 hour shifts Are you passionate about supporting parents and promoting breastfeeding? Do you enjoy connecting with your community and making a meaningful impact? We re looking for a compassionate and motivated Lactation Peer Counselor to join our WIC team! In this role, you ll provide encouragement, education, and hands-on support to pregnant and breastfeeding individuals-helping them feel confident and empowered throughout their journey. πŸ’Ό What You ll
Do:
Provide one-onone and group breastfeeding support to WIC participants in clinic, home or hospital settings Offer culturally responsive care tailored to each family's needs. Serve as a trusted resource for staff and community partners on lactation topics Document services accurately and maintain participant records Support WIC operations, including client intake, eligibility screening, and benefit distribution Connect families with community resources and referrals Assist with outreach efforts to expand program awareness Collaborate with a supportive team and participate in ongoing supervision and development 🧠
What You Bring:
Bilingual in Spanish and English (required) High school diploma or GED A strong commitment to breastfeeding advocacy Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively A team player who values diversity, equity, and inclusion Willingness to complete Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) training after hire Valid driver s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance πŸ’‘ Why Join Us?
