Job Description

Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota Part-Time Visitation Specialist Job Description Safe Place FVC provides a safe environment for families to build and maintain positive relationships during times of transition and separation. As a Visitation Specialist you will help children feel safe while spending time with their parents, they would otherwise not be able to see. Children deserve to love and be loved by both parents no matter what differences their parents may be experiencing.
Position Hours:
  • Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays .
  • Ability to adjust hours as needed to cover events and needs of the position.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervision of on-site visits, virtual visits, exchanges, and telephone calls between children and non-custodial parents.
  • Observe and document specific interactions for every visit, call, and exchange.
  • Provide transportation for families to and from supervised visits.
  • Follow and enforce all FVC policies and protocols routinely and effectively.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and abide by all ethical standards.
  • Communicate effectively daily with the FVC Supervisor.
  • Complete & review all documentation for accuracy and submit to FVC Supervisor.
  • Maintain current and accurate client files.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness of the Family Visitation Center.
Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human services or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge, understanding and experience working in areas of child development, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and family custody is preferred.
  • Good listener, self-motivated, team player
  • Ability to respond effectively to crisis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ethical practice.
Pay:
$18.00 per hour
