Job Description

Stern has an immediate opening for Credentialing Specialist at our Germantown, TN clinic. The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for managing the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for healthcare providers, ensuring all credentials meet organizational, state, and federal requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Provider Credentialing :
Collect, verify, and maintain accurate documentation for healthcare providers, including licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, and education records.
Database Management :
Maintain and update credentialing databases and systems with accurate provider information.
Application Processing :
Prepare and submit credentialing applications to payers, hospitals, and other entities as required.
Communication :
Liaise with providers, insurance companies, and internal departments to resolve credentialing issues and discrepancies.
Audits and Reporting :
Conduct regular audits of credentialing files.
Policy Adherence :
Stay updated on changes in credentialing regulations and ensure adherence to best practices.
Qualifications Experience :
2+ years of experience in provider credentialing, preferably in a healthcare or medical staffing environment.
Certifications :
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred but not required.
Skills :
Strong knowledge of credentialing processes and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in credentialing software (e.g., CAQH, Cactus, Symplr, or similar). Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management.
