Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Insurance Specialist to support our fast-paced Retina Specialty practice. This role is critical to ensuring accurate insurance verification, eligibility confirmation, and timely authorization and referral processing to support seamless patient care and revenue cycle performance. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working with insurance portals, payer policies, and direct communication with insurance representatives. Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits via payer portals and phone calls Confirm active coverage, plan details, deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket responsibilities Obtain and track prior authorizations for procedures, imaging, and medications Communicate with insurance carriers to clarify coverage policies and authorization requirements Review and interpret payer guidelines to ensure compliance Document verification and authorization details accurately in the EMR/EHR system Coordinate with front desk and clinical teams to ensure all required approvals are in place prior to services Identify and escalate issues related to coverage limitations or authorization delays Requirements Experience in medical insurance verification (strongly preferred) Strong working knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid plans Proficiency navigating insurance portals and contacting payers directly Familiarity with prior authorization workflows and requirements Experience with EMR/EHR systems ( preferred ) High attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment Why You'll Love This Role Predictable Monday-Friday schedule (no weekends) Work in a specialty medical practice with high-level clinical exposure Direct impact on patient care and operational efficiency Collaborative, team-oriented environment Competitive pay based on experience Full benefits package available for full-time employees If you are ready to join a high-performing team , contribute to meaningful patient care, and play a critical role in a specialized retina practice, we encourage you to apply today.
