DME Insurance Verification

Description The insurance verification works within the Benefits Management Business Unit and is the key stakeholder for verifying insurance coverage for potential new patients (both switch-out and new referrals). This position also works Patient Intake and Billing Departments to complete verification rechecks, new insurance information cases and address information changes submitted from Patient Intake and Billing. This includes properly completing cases and patient data files within the appropriate database systems. LOCAL to

Skills

• Completes online verification, where applicable, of insurance benefits and coverage related to DME specific to oxygen services.
• Makes outbound calls to insurance companies to verify insurance benefits related to DME specific to oxygen services. Follows standards and guidelines for telephone etiquette and service when interacting with insurance carriers over the phone.
• Evaluates insurance coverage in order to determine the policy's compatibility with our service requirements and departmental standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handles electronic service requests for PI verifications: Recheck, PI high priorities, and hospice eligibility review (and others as assigned) with appropriate attention to detail and service orientation to meet our service response timeframes while ensuring accuracy.
• Handles verification of existing clients who have a change in insurance and requires a system update to the new insurance information to ensure proper billing, moving forward.
