POSITION SUMMARY
Conduct multidisciplinary assessments for children and adolescents presenting to the Crisis Assessment Center and make clinical recommendation for appropriate level of care. Provide for the support of the coordinating team conducting interviews on incoming patient or representative and entering information required for admission into the electronic health record. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and /or abilities required and may include other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE
One to two years psychiatric experience preferred Basic computer skills Knowledge of admission/intake processes including laws and accreditation standards Bilingual preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related field Clinical license preferred (SW, LPC, RN)
SAMA THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Conduct multidisciplinary assessments for children and adolescents presenting to the Crisis Assessment Center and make clinical recommendation for appropriate level of care Verify eligibility and benefits for all third-party payment plans available to the client for payment for services; submit information to Patient Financial Services Document pre-certification for all Medicaid and commercial insurance admissions; submit in a timely manner to business office Notify medical staff of clinical information required by third party payors Counsel each responsible party as to the benefits available through their third party payor prior to admission of the patient to ensure informed consent Prepare all documentation required for patient identification Collect and document necessary clinical/demographic data in the electronic medical record system Counsel patients, family members and other responsible parties regarding admission/treatment protocols and requirements, preparing and insuring completion of required admission and consent forms Screen telephone calls for information about Center services, gathering all necessary information to determine eligibility and appropriateness for admission to Center programs. Referrals made in a timely manner to the QMHP on duty and those not suitable for admission to the Center should be referred to appropriate outside agencies Prepare department reports and maintain department records
