Job Description:
The Medicaid Support Specialist (Casual) supports the school division by managing all aspects of Medicaid reimbursement for eligible special education and health-related services. This role ensures accurate documentation, compliance with federal and state regulations, and efficient processing of claims to maximize reimbursement revenue. The specialist works closely with school administrators, service providers, and the finance department to maintain a smooth and compliant Medicaid program. This Casual position reports to the Director of Special Education.

Required
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
Experience with Medicaid billing, school-based services, healthcare documentation, or related administrative work. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to daily operations. Proficiency with data systems, spreadsheets, and electronic documentation platforms. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Preferred Experience working in a school division or public-sector environment. Knowledge of special education processes and related service delivery. Familiarity with FERPA, HIPAA, and Medicaid compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Program Administration Support the school division's Medicaid reimbursement program, including service documentation, claim submission, and reporting. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid regulations, state guidance, and school-based services requirements. Train and support school-based service providers (e.g., speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, nurses, psychologists, paraprofessionals) on proper Medicaid documentation procedures. Review service logs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before claims are submitted. Maintain secure and confidential records in accordance with FERPA, HIPAA, and division policies. Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of Medicaid claims for eligible services. Reconcile reimbursement reports and resolve rejected or denied claims. Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate revenue posting and reporting. Generate regular reports on Medicaid revenue, claim activity, and provider compliance. Assist with audits, internal reviews, and state monitoring processes. Develop user-friendly guides, resources, and communication materials to support staff understanding.
Compensation:
Hourly rate starting at $18.38
Clearances:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance. Tuberculosis Skin Test. Public Health Compliance - Must follow safety and health protocols. WP
