The Specialist works as part of a collaborative, integrated team and shows initiative in supporting the needs of students, families, and community stakeholders. The Specialist is able to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and practices effective time management in accomplishing assigned duties. Education/Qualifications Associates degree from an accredited institution preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent customer service Troubleshooting and problem solving Positive communication - oral, written, and interpersonal Excellent organization Work independently with frequent interruptions Get along well with others and work as an effective team member Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Work environment : Standard Office and classroom working environment, some nights and weekends may be required (for workshops, college visits, or other program events) Physical requirements : Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. About Northern Wyoming Community College District Sheridan College is located in historic Sheridan, WY at the foot of the beautiful Big Horn Mountains, minutes away from a variety of outdoor recreational activities. Sheridan is ranked "America's Top Western Town" by True West magazine and is a vibrant community. Sheridan College is a vital component in the community. NWCCD also includes a small campus site in Buffalo, WY. Experience Previous experience working with students in a college setting. Basic knowledge of college admission, advising, registration, and financial aid policies and procedures Customer service experience preferred. Responsibility/Duty Act as the 'face' of Sheridan College making sure all visitors feel welcome and supported. Greet students and visitors warmly and ascertain how to best support their needs. Maintaining positive student relationships by handling questions and concerns with speed, accuracy, and professionalism. Manage central phone system for all incoming phone calls. Provide accurate, valid, and complete information to students by utilizing the correct resources/tools required. Schedule appointments for Admissions, Advising, Testing, and Financial Aid when appropriate. Manage communication with Admissions, Advising, Testing, and Financial Aid regarding walk-in student needs. Other duties as assigned
