Position Summary:
Our mission is to alleviate hunger in Southeast Nebraska. We will take steps to nourish our communities and find hunger solutions driven by our Core Values and the belief that all perspectives have value, and every person deserves respect, dignity, and compassion. We will act in ways that welcome diverse experiences and opinions. We will seek equity for all and especially for groups disproportionately affected by food insecurity and systemic causes of poverty. Provides executive support to the President & CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors and Board committees.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Support the administrative needs of the President & CEO and Executive Team.
Proactively perform general administrative duties:
maintain meeting calendars, ensure materials are provided for meetings, including technology setup and support as necessary, screen and schedule appointments, manage event registrations and compose correspondence.
  • Schedule, prepare materials and record minutes for Board of Directors, Board committee and Foundation Board meetings. Maintain Board contact lists, annual forms, and content on the virtual Board platform, Boardable.
  • Prepare meeting materials and record minutes for All Staff, Leadership Team and Executive Team meetings.
  • Produce the daily 8:10 a.m. report and promptly disseminate to all employees.
  • Work with fellow Food Bank staff to reserve on- and off-site meeting spaces.
  • Assist Human Resources department with administrative tasks and scheduling during busy times.
  • Coordinate the submission of Feeding America's NAR (Network Activity Report).
  • Make travel arrangements for staff.
  • Coordinate lunch and/or refreshments for meetings as needed.
  • Assist with special event functions (Board retreat, Food Bank anniversaries, hunger awareness functions, and other events as assigned).
  • Serve as a backup to the Front Office Specialist, providing coverage and handling mail as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Keen sense of hospitality and customer service.
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and telephone skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted demands.
  • Great attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-orientated and the ability to take initiative.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications.
  • Possess a valid Nebraska driver's license and must be insurable.
  • Passion for alleviating hunger, addressing food insecurity and the root causes of poverty and injustice.
  • Motivated by service, humility and compassion for helping people.
