reviews $21•$25 an hour•Part-time Seeking an Executive Assistant that sees chaos as a feature, not a bug. With a high degree of curiosity and considers play to be the highest form of mastery. No one day will be exactly the same. Life is weird. We lean into that.IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU
You've spent the last ten years quietly holding things together. Maybe you ran a dental office. A medical practice. A nonprofit. A family business. A household with three kids, a teenager who forgot the field-trip form, and a dog with anxiety. The phone rang, and it rang for you, because you were the one who actually knew where things were and who was on what. You don't dream big. You just do the next thing. You don't make speeches. You make calls. You're warm with people, but you don't tolerate bullshit, and the people around you know not to test it — usually because they like you too much to want to. If that's you — and you've also got the itch where you can't stop noticing how things could be a little tighter, a little less stupid, a little better tomorrow than they were today — keep reading.THE JOB, IN ONE SENTENCE
Be my eyes, ears, and second mouth — across an indie market, a scratch-kitchen café, a property company, and the daily fires that come with all of it.WHAT THIS ACTUALLY IS WNF INC
is not another grocery store. It's an indie market with a soul that'll blow your hair back. We took the right amount of drugs and came back with a story to tell. Same spot in downtown Wenatchee since 1975. WNF/Cafè was born 2001 and has been punching up ever since. what started as a hole in the wall with big ambiguous ideas has become the little engine that could. serving up thousands of fast casual grab and go eats and drinks every week. Around 50 on the crew across WNF and WNF/Cafè. Every single one of them uniquely insane.INVERT INC.
is the property portfolio side. Multifamily, commercial, the occasional fix-and-flip. Tenant moves, lease renewals, leaky pipes, contractors who don't show. The usual. No corporate office. No HR. Just a phone, a laptop, an AI stack that's actually useful, and a working list of fires longer than my arm. What I need is one person — direct report to me — who picks up the loose ends, runs my calendar across all of it, drops in on the market and the properties as my eyes and ears, and lands my directives where they need to land. The crew likes you. They also know you're mine. The weight you carry is real, but you never have to flex it — your charm and clarity do the work. You don't sit on the floor. You don't get absorbed into the day-to-day. You report to me. You carry my voice. You leave. That distance is the feature, not a flaw — it's how you stay sharp.WORKING WITH ME
I'm Joshua. Wenatchee born and raised, CEO and operator across all of it. I bought my first rental at 16 — same year I bought Wenatchee Natural Foods. No exit, no IPO, no flip, no fast profit. I run these businesses to keep them, and I play the long game in everything I do. I move fast. I read too much. I treat AI as a second brain and expect the people around me to be curious in the same way. I'd rather have a hard conversation now than a polite one that rots over six months. I tell you what's broken. I expect you to tell me what's broken. We don't dance. We don't delay the inevitable. And — non-negotiable — I'm chaotic and playful. There's a rambunctious, curious energy in how I work: riffing, exploring, finding angles nobody else saw, laughing at the mess while we clean it up. If you're riding shotgun with me, you bring that too. The work is serious. The way we do it doesn't have to be. If you can't play, you won't last a week. I'm direct. Sometimes I'm blunt. I'm not mean and I don't yell, but I don't pad and I don't pretend. If that sounds refreshing, we'll get along. If it sounds exhausting, this isn't your job.WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
Run the calendar across the moving parts (WNF, WNF/Cafè, INVERT, my own life) and keep the days from running into each other. Triage my inbox. The 80% that doesn't matter, you handle. The 20% that does, you flag and tee up. Drop in on the market and the properties with intent. Deliver a directive. Eyeball a situation. Carry a message I can't carry myself. The crew sees you and knows what that means — not because anyone said anything, but because you came from me. Hunt loose ends. Vendor invoices that fell through. Lease docs that need a signature. Follow-ups nobody followed up on. Find them. Close them. Don't wait to be asked. Use AI like a weapon, not a toy. We run Claude (and the rest of the stack) for everything — research, drafting, scanning inboxes, planning, building systems. You don't have to be an expert on day one — but you have to be the kind of person who hears "you can ask a computer to scan your week's email and pull out the three things that matter" and immediately thinks what else can this thing do? Build the system that should already exist. If there's no checklist, you write one. If there's no recurring reminder, you set one. You don't ask for the SOP. You write it.WHO YOU ARE NOT
Someone waiting to be told what to do. Someone who treats ChatGPT like a chatbot you joke with. Someone who treats every problem like a funeral. Someone who needs a polished corporate environment to function.COMP & SCHEDULE 20-30
hours per week, hourly, flexible scheduling. Mostly remote — your kitchen table, your couch, wherever — with a few short on-site visits each week and drop-ins at properties as things come up. Hourly rate set fairly for Wenatchee; we're not Seattle and we're not pretending to be. Crew discount on everything in the market and café. This starts part-time. If you turn out to be the right person and you want more, it grows into more. If 20-ish hours is exactly what you want, that works too. No ceiling promised, no ceiling capped. If you made it this far, here's the part I usually lead with so it stops being a surprise: this is how I actually talk. Direct. Blunt. Sometimes brutal. I curse. I tell you what's broken — including when it's you. There's no HR layer here. If that's a problem, walk before we both waste a day. If it sounds refreshing, we're already friends.HOW TO APPLY
Email joshua@WNFinc.com with the subject line:
"Chief of Getting It Done." Tell me three things in plain language: 1. A problem you solved that wasn't your job to solve. 2. A skill you taught yourself because nobody else was going to teach you. 3. Why this — instead of a quiet office and a calm calendar somewhere — sounds like your kind of trouble. Resume optional. I'd rather hear how you actually talk than read your bullet points. If your email reads like ChatGPT wrote it, I'll know in a heartbeat. Write like a real person who has thoughts.Pay:
