  • Part-time Executive Assistant Howell, NJ with occasional Monmouth and Ocean County travel | Part time, 25 to 30 hours per week | W2 $25 to $35 per hour based on experience About the role Small, established family of businesses in Monmouth County is hiring an Executive Assistant to work directly with the owner.
The owner runs several operations including a car wash and auto repair business, a retail shopping center, a thoroughbred horse racing and breeding operation, and a 23 vehicle Turo rental fleet. This is a hands on, working role. You will split your time primarily between the Howell office and occasional work at the owner's home, with day trips within Monmouth and Ocean counties. No overnight travel. The right person has real growth potential here. Ambitious, sharp candidates who perform well can grow into larger operational roles over time as they earn it. What you will do Manage the owner's calendar, appointments, and email flow. Build and maintain organizational systems across six companies: filing, vendor tracking, document management, follow up on open items. Light accounts payable for the horse racing and breeding entities, roughly 20 invoices per month combined, tracked in spreadsheets.
Administer Turo rental fleet:
manage listings, handle toll violations, coordinate vehicle relisting and photos, track platform communications. Organize and coordinate vendors for a laundromat buildout project. Light invoice follow up for shopping center tenants and horse operation receivables. Personal assistant duties at the owner's home on scheduled days: package handling, appointment coordination, household vendor scheduling, personal errands. Occasional day trips within Monmouth and Ocean counties. What you need Exceptional organizational skills. This is the single most important trait. You can walk into a fast moving environment, build a system, and maintain it. Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills. You set up and maintain clean tracking spreadsheets without being told every column to create. Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude in a professional setting. You understand what kinds of information are appropriate to share and what are not. Experience handling confidential financial and personal information. Reliable vehicle is a must. Comfort working in a professional home environment on scheduled days. References we can call. What makes this a good fit You take quiet pride in being the most organized person in the room. You thrive in fast moving environments where priorities shift and you can build structure around that. You like variety and you are comfortable switching between business administrative work and personal assistant work. You catch small errors before they become big ones. You are direct and comfortable asking questions when something does not look right. You are ambitious and want to grow. Prior experience matters less than intelligence, hustle, and judgment. You are discreet. Working across business and home means you will see both, and you treat everything as confidential. What this is not Not remote (some remote might be available for special occasions). Not a bookkeeper role. Our outside accounting firm handles the books. Not a good fit if you are working another job and trying to fit this in around it. Not a good fit if you need a rigid schedule or a slow paced environment. Compensation and benefits $25 to $35 per hour based on experience, W2 paid through Garden State Car Wash. Mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle on company business. Annual performance bonus based on accuracy, judgment, and attendance. Growth opportunity into larger operational roles for the right person over time. Long term stability.
