This is a dual-role position — part strategic business partner, part personal life organizer — and requires someone who can handle both with grace and discretion. This is a close, trust-based working relationship. Above all else, we're looking for someone with uncompromising honesty and integrity. What you'll do Manage calendars, correspondence, and scheduling on behalf of the principal Set up and administer employee benefits (health, dental, vision, retirement) — experience in this is required Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers for both business and personal needs Support day-to-day operations of a small product design company Handle personal logistics: errands, appointments, household vendor management Oversee care coordination for feral cat colonies — directing volunteers and third-party helpers (direct handling not required) Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems Handle sensitive matters with complete discretion at all times What we're looking for Honesty is the #1 priority in this role. We value someone who is straightforward, trustworthy, and will always tell it like it is — even when it's not easy. Benefits administration experience is equally non-negotiable. 3+ years as an executive assistant, personal assistant, or office manager — small business experience preferred Proven hands-on experience setting up and managing employee benefits programs Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and common business tools Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities independently A genuine love of cats — the principal maintains several feral cat colonies and this work matters deeply to them Located within approximately 25 miles of zip code 77055 in Houston — in-person presence required regularly Application Question(s): Answering all questions is required to be considered for this position. Which ZIP code do you currently reside in? What was your salary at your most recent position? What are your salary expectations for this role? Kindly share the annual gross salary What's your earliest available start date? Approximately how many employees worked at your most recent organization, and how large was the team you directly supported? Do you have direct experience supporting an owner or executive at a small business (not a large corporation)? Briefly describe. What software or digital tools are you currently using in your day-to-day work? (e.g., scheduling/calendar tools, email platforms, spreadsheets, bookkeeping or invoicing software, project management tools, etc.) Please be specific about which ones and how recently. Do you have any hands-on experience with cat rescue, fostering, or care — for example, handling, feeding, medicating, or transporting cats, including ones that are feral, injured, or anxious? Do you have any allergies or sensitivities to cats that would affect your ability to work closely with them regularly? This role involves working in a home/small-office setting where cats are present — are you comfortable and happy working around cats? What values are most important to you when evaluating a leader?
