Summary This is a full-time position with the Clerk's Office at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C.

This job is open to The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties The Assistant Clerk - File Room incumbent distributes material initiated in the Clerk's Office to the Chambers and other offices of the Court and sorts, date stamps, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail. Also stores documents, ships briefs to the Court's depositories, returns records to lower courts, and distributes bench and slip opinions. Operates computer, mail metering equipment, duplicating equipment, high-speed scanning equipment, and maintains all case files. Performs other duties as assigned. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under the Selective Service Law.

www.sss.gov Qualifications Must be able to operate high-volume mail and duplicating equipment. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows products and Office Suite preferred. Must be able to work effectively with others. Education A high school diploma and one year of experience in a clerk's office or other legal or government environment is required.
