Job Title:
Sheetfed Pressman
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to, handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out, and use of personal protective equipment
  • Ability to read and understand job ticket (e.g. quantity, inks / paper required, product finished size, packaging, etc.) Perform make ready tasks (set up offset press machine with correct substrate, ink, and plate per specifications, etc.)
  • Operate Sheetfed Press (Examine printed sheets for ink density, position on paper and registration, and make adjustments to the press throughout production run to maintain specific registration and color density. Complete quality checklist(s) and perform visual quality checks of the product throughout the printing process to ensure customer satisfaction)
  • Responsible for the supervision of crew members
  • Responsible for safety, quality, spoilage, and production.
  • Must adhere to job specifications as it relates to completing job within specified time and waste allocations as per the job ticket
  • Responsible for training of crew members
  • Responsible for contributing to crew members annual performance reviews
  • Responsible for performing maintenance on assigned press (Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed during the job.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment. Remove and replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers, using hand tools as needed, maintenance record keeping, maintaining inventory of press room supplies, cleaning, etc.) and reporting any maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Department and Management)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform crew member duties
  • Responsible for the operating and maintaining of assigned press for job quality (correct paper stock, registration, color density, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Lead Offset Sheetfed Operator experience.
  • Capable of performing in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to distinguish colors (not "color blind")
  • Ability to write, speak, read, comprehend, and execute basic written and verbal instructions in English
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail
  • Ability to function well under pressure while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude with co-workers
  • Self-disciplined and energetic
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities
  • Ability to make good decisions and expedite in a short time frame and understand their ramifications Mechanical aptitude preferred
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ability to move about freely, climb, stoop, reach, and move/push objects
  • Ability to work on a concrete floor for up to 12 hours
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack, pulling a load of approximately 1400 pounds
  • Ability to operate a keyboard for computer data input and retrieval
  • Ability to work overtime when required ur legacy of delivering top-notch printing solutions.
