This role is responsible for ensuring that the firm's client files are created, delivered, returned, and destroyed in a consistent and timely manner. About the
Opportunity Responsibilities:
1. Transport client files in and out of the file room. 2. Scan to check out files and ensure delivery to requestor. 3. Scan in files and ensure returned files are filed accurately. 4. Work on project files and destroy if necessary. 5. File documents received into appropriate client files. 6. Respond to calls, voicemail and e-mail requests. 7. Cancel/destroy files as requested. 8. Create new sub-files from label queue and affix the proper labels. 9. Process adjustment/edit memos. 10. Close files and prepare them for return to offsite storage. 11. Support other Legal Records-related tasks, initiatives, and projects as needed. 12. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Punctuality, thoroughness, and careful attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with all firm members at levels. Initiative to complete current tasks and seek out the next task that needs to be completed. Teamwork. High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
About You Experience, Education and Training :
Previous filing experience desired; law firm experience a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Aptitude in keyboarding and 10 key-machine. The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, pushing a file cart containing files and boxes, climbing a ladder, having the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
