Job Description

Part-time Field Interviewer - Spanish Bilingual University of Michigan Overview Description Make a difference in your community! As a field interviewer you will help scientists collect high quality data used to inform policy and improve the world. Working efficiently in 4-6 hour blocks of time, you will set appointments, travel to a variety of neighborhoods to screen households for eligibility, and complete interviews in study participants' homes. To thrive in this position you must be comfortable using a laptop, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able establish trust. There is no experience required. We will teach you everything you need to know. $2/hour differential for certified English/Spanish bilingual interviewers Here's what we get asked most often: $22.25/hour $700 in bonuses ($400 after your first production interview and $300 after three months of successful production work). $2/hour differential for certified English/Spanish bilingual interviewers (bilingual not required) Paid training, both online and in-person Mileage reimbursement for all business miles Coaching and mentoring to help you flourish You must live within 60 miles of Atlanta, GA area Excellent candidates will enjoy working with a diverse group of people. You will be able to set your schedule. You are expected to work at least 25 hours per week, and it is required that you work some weekday, evening, and weekend shifts. Interviewers will be trained for the job specific skills required: administer survey questionnaire (read survey questions exactly as written), follow all data collection protocols, collect physical measurements and bio specimens, and to record data accurately using a laptop computer. For more than 20 years, the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) has been a leading source for information on the health and economic circumstances of adults over age 50 in the United States. By asking select individuals to participate in the study and tell us about their lives, HRS paints an invaluable portrait of America's older adults. Scientists have used this information to publish over 3,500 books, articles and papers.
