Job Description
Forensic Interviewer (Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred) All Faiths Children's Advocacy Center Overview Description Forensic Interviewer (Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred) Must maintain a New Mexico residential address.
Essential Functions:
Forensic interviewing of children, adolescents and developmentally delayed adults who are suspected to be the victim of sexual and/or physical abuse or witness to a violent crime.Specific Duties:
1. Forensic Program a. Conduct and observe forensic interviews of child victims and witnesses in a manner that meets legal requirements of the investigation agencies and child protection needs. b. Facilitate pre and post-interview case staffing with multi-disciplinary team members working the investigation. c. Oversee intake and scheduling functions on a daily basis relative to emergencies and prioritizations. d. Responsible for implementing quality assurance standards for intake and interviewing. e. Assist in training new interviewers to insure that services and completed with satisfaction to meet the needs of the case team, as well as the developmental and emotional needs of the child. f. Assist with ongoing review and revision of program practices and procedures. g. Develop and conduct presentations for professionals at local, regional and national levels. h. Participate in monthly case reviews with larger MDT in multiple counties as well as participate in peer review on a regular basis. i. Complete case files, statistical and case-tracking paperwork. j. Respond to subpoenas and testify when orders to do so by the court. k. Maintain awareness of current techniques, controversies and research affecting the field of forensic interviewing. l. Participate in on-going cross-disciplinary education and training. m. Act as a team leader when assigned by supervisor. n. Other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred to Perform theJob:
1. Effective decision-making skills in routine and emergency situations. 2. Ability to problem-solve and draw consensus with wide range of individuals and agencies. 3. Ability to set an example for quality work and professional atmosphere with All Faiths Children's Advocacy Center (AFCAC) staff. 4. Able to demonstrate positive leadership and encouraging attitude contributing to staff development and morale. 5. Excellent command of technical and qualitative knowledge of child abuse investigation issue and dynamics. 6. Computer literacy 7. Valid divers license 8. Ability to drive for work related tasks as required by your supervisor.Education and Experience Requirements:
1. Undergraduate degree in a field related to social sciences, education, criminal justice, nursing, psychology, etc. 2. Minimum of one year working with children.
