Job Position Summary:
The Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care at the University of Minnesota, Department of Neurology is dedicated to advancing world-class memory research to improve quality of life. We are seeking a research support role for our Brain Health Registry and Biorepository Clinical Research Study to work with Chinese American research participants. Specifically, we are recruiting for a bilingual Psychometrist (Chinese Mandarin and/or /Cantonese, and English, with the ability to speak, read and write fluently) who will interface with our Chinese American participants directly through the administration and scoring of cognitive assessments for research. Strong candidates will have demonstrated good, organizational skills and self-initiation, and should be detailed orientated. Other duties include research related work assignments such as study visit support, data entry, and quality assessments. Prior experience in basic statistics is also useful for this role.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid (predominately in-person), M- F, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
(75%) Administer and scores neuropsychometric tests: Adapts administration of tests to the specific needs of each participant while staying within the standardized procedures set forth for each specific test. Coordinate and score a variety of neuropsychometric tests under the supervision of a clinical neuropsychologist. The tests measure a wide variety of cognitive functions and include tests of intelligence, attention, learning and memory, language skills, perceptual-motor skills, and executive functions. Ensure tests are accurately and carefully compiled with appropriate behavioral observations noted for use by a neuropsychologist in the interpretation. (20%) Completes paperwork: Generates a written summary of participant's behavior during testing. Maintains test materials/supplies. Compiles data for clinical and research purposes. Enters test data accurately into relevant database(s). (5 %) Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served (If applicable to position): Communicates in a respectful manner. Ensures a safe, secure environment. Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials
Required Qualifications:
BA\BS in a psychology or health related field or a combination of education and relevant experience to equal four years. Fluency • near native level mastery in reading, writing and speaking of Mandarin, Cantonese and English. Psychology experience of some kind with demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse adult populations. Basic measurement and computer skills including good observation skills, reading skills, and writing skills. Must have good interpersonal written and communication skills including attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
