Full-time Position Title:

Basic Function:
The forensic interviewer will conduct interviews of alleged victims of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse to obtain accurate and reliable information to be used to make child protection, criminal offense, and therapeutic and intervention decisions.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Shall attend a minimum of forty (40) hours of pre-service training with a nationally recognized specialized Forensic Child Interviewer training.
  • Complete a minimum of fifteen hours per year continuing education sessions annually.
  • Coordinate interview schedules with law enforcement and child protective services investigators.
  • Obtain information regarding traumatic history in a manner that meets legal requirements for assessment of protection and treatment needs.
  • Conduct interviews of children following the established forensic interview protocol in cases of alleged severe physical or sexual abuse for children ages 3 through 17.
  • Document interviews in a written format and distribute as determined by the Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT) protocol.
  • Serve as a member of CPIT and perform duties required to
TCA 37-1-607.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team review meetings.
  • Provide testimony in pertinent court proceedings.
  • Provide and compile data for tracking reports.
  • Participate in peer review assessments and supervisory evaluations.
  • Attend periodic statewide meetings for forensic interviewers as scheduled by the TN CAC chapter.
  • Maintain files in compliance with legal and regulatory and contract requirements. Be responsible for the secure storage of interview files.
  • As a CAC team member, fundraising and community outreach efforts will be required from time to time.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field related to social science, education, criminal justice, nursing, psychology, or other helping profession; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Must complete 40 hours of forensic interviewing training through an accredited FI program such as NCAC or CornerHouse (Training can be provided by the CAC).
  • Demonstrate a professional knowledge of child abuse and neglect and child development (through course work, professional training, or higher education) and demonstrated experience with interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Possess a working knowledge of community resources including child protective services, the criminal justice system, a knowledge of child abuse and child development and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Be emotionally prepared, daily, to interact with alleged child abuse victims and their non-offending caregiver(s) in a professional manner.
  • No criminal history as determined through Child Abuse Registry maintained by the TN Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
COMPENSATION
This position will be paid an annual salary that will commensurate skills, experience, quality of work, and community standards. The Forensic Interviewer will work at least 36 hours per week; however, there will be times when the Forensic Interviewer works more than 36 hours based on needs of the Center. Benefits will be offered as described in the Employee Policies and Procedures Manual.
REQUIREMENTS
A valid driver's license, background check, letter of good health, and a tuberculosis (TB) assessment is a requisite of employment with the 32nd
CAC. DUTY LOCATION
This position will support clients throughout the 32nd Judicial District and includes regular travel within Hickman, Perry and Lewis Counties. Main offices will include the following: 121 E 2nd Avenue, Hohenwald, TN 38462 AND 109 E. Swan St., Centerville, TN 37033.
SCHEDULE
8am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday; 8am-12pm Friday; Hybrid (in person and remote); Some weekends and evenings are required.
Pay:
$45,000.00
