About the
Role:
The Legal Secretary provides administrative and organizational support to the legal department, with a primary focus on maintaining and managing the litigation tracker. This role is responsible for ensuring legal matters are accurately logged, deadlines are monitored, case documentation is organized, and reporting is kept current. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
What You'll Do:
Maintain and update the department's litigation tracker to ensure all active and closed matters are accurately recorded. Monitor key litigation deadlines, court dates, filing dates, response deadlines, and other case milestones. Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel to gather and update case information. Organize, maintain, and retrieve legal files, pleadings, correspondence, discovery materials, and related documentation. Prepare routine legal correspondence, reports, summaries, and status updates. Assist with document management, filing, and record retention in accordance with legal and company requirements. Track invoices, legal spending, and outside counsel information as needed. Support scheduling of meetings, depositions, hearings, and other litigation-related events. Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of privileged and sensitive legal information. Provide general administrative support to the legal team as assigned.
Do You Have:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Prior experience in a legal secretary, legal assistant, or administrative support role preferred. Experience supporting litigation matters or working with case management systems is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Physical Tasks•
