Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours/week (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 30-minute lunch) Position Overview A respected law firm in Carlsbad, California is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to provide high-level administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong grasp of litigation procedures, court rules, and deadline management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced in all aspects of litigation support, including filings, calendaring, and document preparation. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys. Maintain accurate and up-to-date court calendars, including all statutory and court-ordered deadlines. Prepare, revise, and proofread a variety of legal documents, including: Pleadings Motions Discovery requests and responses Correspondence Coordinate and manage filings in state and federal courts (electronic and physical), ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements. Assist with corporate counsel work as needed, including drafting and formatting documents. Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, client meetings, and trial logistics. Maintain organized electronic and physical case files with exceptional attention to detail. Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors. Top Priorities for Success Strong litigation experience as a legal secretary - at least 3 years in a litigation-focused role Expertise with deadlines, filings, and court documents across all aspects of litigation Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience as a litigation legal secretary (required). Demonstrated working knowledge of civil procedure, court rules, and litigation deadlines. Proficiency with legal software platforms, document management systems, and electronic filing systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, detail-focused, and proactive with the ability to manage competing deadlines. Dependable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality. Compensation Salary up to $100,000 DOE (commensurate with experience). Compensation is negotiable based on skill, background, and depth of litigation expertise.
