Legal Secretary (Education Law / Litigation Support)
Location:
Oakland, CA, on-site
Salary:
$79,000 - $106,000 DOE We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a California-based law firm, seeking a Legal Secretary to support attorneys in a litigation-focused practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, experience supporting multiple attorneys, and the ability to manage deadlines and document workflows in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Provide legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys Draft, proofread, and format correspondence and legal documents Manage e-filing in administrative, state, and federal forums Maintain litigation calendars and track deadlines using rule-based systems Coordinate scheduling, meetings, and travel arrangements Communicate with courts, clients, and internal teams Support file management and document organization Prepare expense reports and assist with administrative tasks Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of litigation secretary experience supporting multiple attorneys Strong knowledge of court rules, procedures, and calendaring Experience with e-filing across administrative, state, and federal systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) Experience with document management and timekeeping systems preferred Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Work Environment Full-time, in-office position based in Oakland Benefits Health insurance 401(k) with profit-sharing Collaborative and professional work environment Equal Opportunity Employer Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
