Job Description
Position Summary The Document Clerk is responsible for drafting, proofreading, and assembling all standard unlawful detainer pleadings and notices for filing with the court, ensuring compliance with all applicable court rules, county-specific requirements, and filing deadlines. This role prepares complete filing packets, routes documents for digital signature through Vinesign, verifies that all required forms and attachments are present, and electronically files documents through the appropriate court e-filing portals. The Document Clerk actively monitors filing status, follows up on submissions, and resolves any rejections to ensure filings are accepted and approved without delay. Key Responsibilities • Ensure all required documents are obtained and accurately completed Draft, proof, and prepare required unlawful detainer documents Manage fluctuating daily volume including periodic spikes Ensure accurate data entry in Filevine and trigger appropriate task flows Organize and upload all relevant documents in Filevine Send documents to clients and attorneys for digital signatures with Vinesign eFile documents via online portals or prepare documents for process server pick up Timely follow-up on eFilings and process server statuses Provide status updates to clients as required Manage personal task list, maintain organized digital files, and ensure all data is accurately entered and updated in Filevine as soon as it is received Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned to support attorneys, clients, or firm Ensure all required documents are obtained and accurately completed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years administrative or legal assistant experience Strong organizational and multitasking skills with acute attention to detail Proficiency in Filevine or similar case management systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and attorney correspondence Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize time-sensitive matters Demonstrated ability to receive feedback and learn quickly in a structured workflow environmentPreferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in an eviction/unlawful detainer department Experience working with multiple attorneys and managing high-volume caseloadsPay:
